An NHS Consultation Appointment & Sick Pay

70 Weeks. That what the current waiting time is for the Ear, Nose & Throat Department is in the NHS near me. I’m managed to secure a much earlier appointment than this, which is in April 2024. But unfortunately this does mean that I’ll be off work for at least another couple of months and will go down to sick pay.

Everyone lives to their means. With no savings to fall back on (and even if I did, they would be unlikely to cover the amount of lost income), I’ve had to contact my creditors and explain the situation. I’ve also had to get creative about bringing in income.

So I’ve decided, mostly out of desperation, to sell my Witchy Services online on Etsy. Signs From Marie Laveau?

Marie Laveau (1801-1881) was an African American lady who was a Voodoo Practitioner, Wise Woman, Herbal Healer, Spiritual & Community Leader and Business Women in New Orleans, USA. This incredible woman I recently got educated about by my good friend Sally, at The Lancashire Witch.

Since Sally told me about Marie Laveau, I’ve been unable to escape very obvious signs that I need to know more about this wonderful woman. The first sign was reading something about Marie Laveau’s gris gris bags.

I’ve been creating gris gris charm bags and feeding them daily with an oil mixes ever since I came across the idea online several years ago. I even put some of these type of Spells into my book SpellCast – Folk Magic for the 21st Century, that I co-authored with Luna Hare. I had no idea that these type of Spells came from Voodoo.

The next sign came when a book by Marie Laveau appeared on my Facebook feed. Someone had posted it in a Witchcraft group. The thing is though: it wasn’t a Witchcraft group that I was a part of or had ever liked or commented on anything in. Now, I don’t always pick up on subtle signs and I am almost famous for ignoring signs, passing them off as coincidences.

But this was like a slap in the face of a sign to me. I’m not sure what the spirit of Marie Laveau wants with me, a White, British, Gay Witch. But Marie, or Mrs Laveau, whichever you prefer, you’ve got my attention and I’m listening. Feel free to send more signs and for my part I’ll be doing some more research into your life and Voodoo practices.

Incorporating Flowers, Herbs, Resins, Roots & Barks into My Witchcraft Thanks to The Lancashire Witch

I’ve been a Witch for a long time. I’ve even co-authored a book on magic called SpellCast – Folk Magic for the 21st Century. But those of you who know my Witchy side well, know I’m great with candles, crystals and essential oils. But not so great with flowers, plants and trees.

It isn’t that I don’t like flowers, plants and trees, I do, I just didn’t know much about the magical uses of them in spell work. That was until I started having some good conversations with the Witch herself: The Lancashire Witch.

SpellCast – Folk Magic for the 21st Century

My latest book is titled Spell Cast – Folk Magic for the 21st Century and has been co-authored with my good friend Luna Hare. Here is some more information about SpellCast from the back cover:

A Happiness & Money Spell
This Spell is from SpellCast – Folk Magic from the 21st Century. This Spell is highly effective and we have nicknamed it the Master Bringer of All Spell. For this Spell you will need:

  • A yellow candle.
  • A green candle.
  • A paper and pen.
  • Sandalwood essential oil.
  • A fire proof dish.

1. Charge the yellow candle for happiness and the green candle for money. Anoint each candle after charging with sandalwood oil.

2. Write out the following spell on a piece of paper:

By the Dragon’s light,
On this [month] night,
Bring happiness and money into sight.

Let [name]’s life be filled with joy,
Every task he/she does enjoy.
With happiness in his/her heart,
Any sadness and pain does now depart.

Let [name] claim monies owed,
Until monies he/she has bestowed.
He/she will not worry about money,
For it shall flow freely like honey.

By the Dragon’s light,
On this [month] night.

[Name] you are happy.
[Name] you have money.
By the Dragon’s might.
So mote it be.

3. When you are ready light both candles, say the spell aloud and then burn the piece of paper with the words written on to release the spell into the cosmos.

If doing this spell for yourself say for myself where the name is.

If you are doing the spell for someone else make sure to imagine them happy and with money.

4. Allow the candles to burn down, releasing the intentioned energy out into the universe.
