Dolly Parton is an icon, mega star and all round lovely person. I don’t listen to country music often, but when I do it’s always Dolly. I have even seen the musical 9 to 5, see Musicals for more details.

- Growing up Dolly was extremely poor. Yet despite recognising this Dolly recalls her childhood as a happy one.
- In addition to singing, Dolly has made appearances on TV shows, in films and has even written books.
- She states that she thinks like a man when it comes to business opportunities, negotiations and decisions.
- Dolly became affectionately known as The Book Lady, providing free books to children to help them learn to read and write.
- Dolly is a multi millionaire, but would be a billionaire, if she didn’t do her charity work and put so much money into it.
- Dolly has never had children. She once described her and her husband as being one another’s children.
- I know we shouldn’t really talk about a lady’s age, but Dolly is 78 years old. She doesn’t look it, is still working and giving to charities. Well done Dolly.
