Get politically active!

By Life, PoliticalNo Comments

Want an easy way to tell Gordan Brown what you want the poiticans to do for you?

We’d all love to have the time to tell Gordan Brown and the other poiticans what we want. But let’s be honest, who has the time? To contact your MP or write letters.

Well I found an online way to petition Gordan Brown and his government to action. Here’s the link: http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/. As well as signing exsisting petitions you can create your own.

I have signed a few, including one about rising prices for petrol and houses. So go and get politically active now! Right from your chair.

People that inspire me

By Books & Authors, Friends & Family, Inspiration, Life, Music & Radio, TV, Online Streaming & FilmsNo Comments

Today’s blog entry, is some what of an odd one. It is about people who inspire me in my life.

First and foremost my family and friends inspire me and influence me greatly. Family wise, my mum inspires me the most. I once asked her, “if you could be famous for anything, what would it be?” Her responce: “I’d like to be famous for making a difference to the world, like discovering the cure for cancer.” As a child she instilled a huge amount of confidence in me and continues to inspire me with her thoughts, feelings and attitude. All of my family inspire me in different ways although she remains the one that inspires me the most.

My friends come from all over the country and from all different cultural backgrounds. It would be impossible to list each and everyone and how they inspire me in one blog entry. But a good example is my friends Simon and Chrys. They are truly wounderful. They accepted me for who I am, the good, the bad and the ugly. They inspire me by being who they are recognising their own strenghs and flaws and have taught me to recognise mine.

In the “famous” world (i.e. people you will know), their is a variety of people who inspire me. I have always loved to make people laugh, so naturally any one who can do this is a big inspiration to me. Comedians who inspire me include: Whoopi Goldberg, Alan Carr, French & Saunders and Dylan Moran.

In the film world it’s more about the content of the film that inspires me than the actors/actresses. Films that inspire me include (but are by no means limited to these films listed): Ever After, Mona Lisa Smile, Beautiful Thing, The Craft, Good Will Hunting, A Home of our own, Billy Elliot, Brokeback Mountain. It would be impossible to list all of them. But the films all involve one of two key themes:
1. Finding love
2. People coping through difficult (some times dangerous) situations in life and dealing with them, coming out stronger often achieving their goals.

Music inspires me too. Again it’s more about the song than the artist. Although some artists that do inspire me with most of their work include (but are not limited to): Mariah Carey, Whitney Huston, Kylie, Diana Ross and The Supremes, Celine Dion, Savage Garden, Enya, Gabrielle, Josh Groben, Nerina Pallot, The Calling. The songs that inspire me are generally about love (as most songs are). They inspire me as they descibe how it feels to be in love or to loose it, feelings that we’ve all had at different times in our lives.

Writers to me are very inspirational. To write words telling a story, that allows your imagination to show the story in your mind (much like a film), even making you feel emotions is truely remarkable. I love books by Sophie Kinsella, Cecelia Ahern and am constantly finding new authors that I like. A book from my teen years entitled The boy in the bubble had a huge inspirational effect on me, wetting my appetite for reading. All of these authors have inspired me to do creative writing which I do from time to time when inspired.

That’s all for now, hope this has give you more of an insight in to me.

Thanks to the attractive stranger

By Friends & Family, Gigs & Shows, Happiness & Joy, Life, Love & RelationshipsNo Comments

Normally I do not drink as I am driving, but my friend Mr. James had invited me to stay over for his house party on Friday. I drank horrenous ammonts of vodka in the house party before people decided to head out to a club.

I was swaying as I entered the club, god only knows why they let me in! Once in, I continued to drink. Everyone was having a fantastic time but Mr. James wasn’t there and I decided that I’d had enough and would go to James. I let people know and left the club.

Once outside I closed one eye to try and get the buildings in focus to work out my route to the bed for the night. I was followed out by a member of the group, an attractive stranger.

I would like to thank this attractive stranger for getting me to James safely. With out him, I am unsure if I would have made it there. I got the attractive strangers telephone number in the morning and thanked him.

Although I will not disclose the conversations that we had when we got back, or how they effected me, the point is that they did. I shall say nothing further at present but keep you informed on any updates with this stranger.

I went watching Kylie’s X2008 Tour in Manchester on the Saturday. I will be posting images and one or two videos shortly. But in the mean time a taster:

Out Every Night

By Adventures, Friends & Family, Gay, Life, Love & RelationshipsNo Comments

Hi All,

I’ve been out all this week.

Monday – I went out for a meal. The meal however was over shadowed by an ex-partner being in the same resturant with his new partner. I was glad to see that he was happy and had moved on but felt uncomfortable, due to the fact we’ve not really spoken since our break up some time ago. I would loved to have stayed friends with him, as he started off as a friend and was a good one. Seeing him there knocked me for six and I just wanted the floor to swallow me up. However, once he was gone the meal was more enjoyable.

Tuesday – Mum’s Birthday. I didn’t forget it, just didn’t realise it was the first of July already. Time seems to have flown by this year. I guess it must do for people who are busy working, as I’ve been a student most of my working life. I picked her up from work and gave her some flowers. However my older brother upstaged me by buying some too, before I did. Anyone who knows me will know I hate to be upstaged, but he cooked me tea, so I didn’t have to kill him!

Wednesday I got a text from my good friend Steve requesting emergency last minute help moving. So after three car loads he was moved and I got home very late.

Today (Thursday) I was suppose to be working, but it was canceled. In honestly, I am so glad it was. It mean’t I could go home and do all my domestic tasks that had been building up.

Friday (tomorrow) I shall be going to Manchester Gay Village to watch The Lady Boy’s of Bankcock. I have seen them for the last 2 years, they always put on a fantastic show! Can’t wait.

In relation to the site, I have put back the publish date of my Adventures Road Trip blog due to not having time to complete it. I know, I need to get it up there. Once it’s up I can start planning the next one. I have however created a June 08 Archive to keep the home page from getting too long.

So happy reading, speak soon.
