Yule & A Lifetime Gift

Hello All,

My ‘Christmas’ is called Yule and is more related to the changing off the seasons. Marking the end of winter and welcoming back the sun. To read more about Yule go here. Anyway Yule is on the 21st December (yesterday).

So David came down for a ritual with Simon, Chrys and some of their friends. David and I went shopping to make a Yule Compote (a mashed fruit desert). It was lovely and went down a treat.

Prior to going to ritual I gave David a lovely Yule gift I had bought him. A beatiful Book Of Shadows (B.O.S). A B.O.S is a journal to record his path as he explores paganism. It includes: learning, experiences, rituals, spells, recipies, etc.

David loved his gift (thankfully!). I also bought two of these books for my self
(Hey! I’ve been living as a pagan for over 7 years!).

Here’s a photo of mine:

(Notice the A.S initals at the bottom. I had Davids personalised like this too!)

I bought it from The Diary Shop I would highly recommend it. They are hand made with hand made paper and reasonably priced.

Anyway, the Yule ritual went well. Although I am nackard tonight.

So one last thing before I go, do you remember that song by George Micheal?

Yes, last Christmas. Well I’ve been hearing it all day, and if I have to suffer so do you.

Bathroom Dancing, Inspired and Just Discovered!

Bathroom dancing, does anybody do it?

Whilst your bath is running, plugged in to your ipod – dance in front of the mirror. Is it just me? I think we all need a bit of fun every now and again, ha ha or maybe I just need a night out!

My weekend (see A Weekend ‘Paganing’) inspired me, despite being broke, to buy How to Create a Magical Home and Utterly Wicked: Curses, Hexes & Other Unsavory Notions. Now the latter may worry you, however we curse people sub-conciously on a daily basis. I also use the phrase ‘know thy enemy’. In addition to these books, I couldn’t resist picking up 2009 Bunny Suicides Deluxe Diary.

Finally, I have just discovered French and Saunders are realising a DVD of their last ever tour. I was lucky enough to see it earlier this year with my mum.

I will be buying this as I think they are wonderful. Perhaps a Christmas gift to myself.

Warmest Regards,

Antony

A Weekend ‘Paganing’

Well what a weekend it’s been, eh?

For me it’s been a busy one as I have been ‘paganing’. I attended a late Samhain ritual on Saturday, which gave me an opportunity to interact with my local fellow pagans. I was supprised to discover how much I actually knew and for the first time calculated how long I had been a practicing pagan. Over 7 years, wow!

Then today (Sunday) I attended a Healing Festival to show my support for a charity, raising funds to buy a forest.

It was a lovely weekend, that made me contemplate where I go next on my spiritual journey. I hmade a decision to focus on Spirit Communication, Astral Travel & Closening my Connection with the God & Goddess.

Samhain Ritual, goes well

By Life, PaganismNo Comments

As you know Samhain is a pagan’s Christmas and New Year rolled in to one. Simon, Chrys and I had planned to do a group ritual together but it was canceled as Simon had to work (waking nights – awe!).

So David (see attractive stranger, elephant cups & tatton park, a poem posts) and I prepared and completed ritual.

What’s Samhain about?
1. Celebration of a good harvest – Thanking the god, goddess and mother earth for a fruitful harvest.
2. The equinox – Recognising the god’s days are coming to an end as the crone goddess sits on the throne for the winter period. Nature going in to hibernation to sleep out the cold, winter, months.
3. A time of remembrance – Celebrating and remembering the lives of those that have moved on to the astral plane, or above.
3. The veils between the physical and astral are thin – A time to communicate with those that inhabit the astral plane or travel there (via astral travel).

The ritual went well with both David and I inputting in to the planning and execution of it.

Write soon,

Antony
