Adventure 2 – Benidorm Part 1

By Adventures, Books & Authors, Happiness & Joy, Love & RelationshipsNo Comments

After deciding I needed Time Out, off I jetted on a plane with plenty of books to read (Twenties Girl by Sophie Kinsella – review coming soon, promise; The Self-Preservation Society by Kate Harrison; Look Back in Hunger: The Autobiography by Jo Brand; Pagan Visions for a Sustainable Future by Ly De Angeles, et al; I am What I am by John Barrowman; The Rapture by Liz Jensen; The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson and The Element Encyclopedia of Magical Creatures: The Ultimate A-Z of Fantastic Beings from Myth and Magic by John & Caitlin Matthews).

The locals were wearing their coats, hats, scarfs and glovers and looked at me like I was a crazy person or some sort of tourist sun-bathing topless on the beach.

Plenty of good food, drink and good times were had. I went there as a singledom and came back with a boyfriend. The story of Boyfriend-W (as he shall be named for now) will be revealed in Part 2.

Blog soon,

Time Out

By Adventures, Gay, Happiness & Joy, Life5 Comments

“That’s it I’ve had enough” I said a few weeks ago. And I wasn’t joking, so I went and booked a holiday to Benidorm.

I fly out a week today and the excitement is starting to fill me as it gets closer. Got my flight tickets and hotel confirmation from the travel agent today. I must say that although the last minute holiday was cheap, us in the land of singledom are discriminated against – I had to pay what worked out to about £100 more because I’m going on my own, rather than as a couple.

It is going to be a week of relaxation. Catching some sun, reading some books, eating, and hopefully making a friend or two along the way. I hope to explore the famous old town that apparently has lots of gay bars/clubs/restaurants etc. as well as making good use of the beach.

Will of course blog about it when I get back. I’m not sure if there are any pre-written blog posts scheduled to publish while I’m away – so you may still have some reading, you may not. Your guess is as good as mine.

Adiós para ahora, bloguea pronto (translated to Spanish via Free Translation)

Goals for 2009

By Adventures, Amazon, Friends & Family, Happiness & Joy, Health, Life, Money / Finances, ThinkingNo Comments

We all have goals don’t we?

Well here’s mine, for 2009 (owe it rhymes):

  • Health – To Improve my blood sugar control, eat better & be generally healthy.
  • Financial – To pay off debts (one from last year I didn’t actually manage to do).
  • Work – To complete work-related qualification & continue my professional development.
  • Home – To put together a dream home book and start working towards it
  • Adventures – To go to Italy for two weeks and explore the culture, places and people that inhabit this land.
  • Creative – To do some more candle making (see A Visit to Simon’s) and some creative writing.
  • Be There – To continue to be there for family & friends who I am very lucky to have.

Amazon have got this interesting site for New Years Resolutions. Have a look it has show good products on offer.

    With My Love to All,

  • Lady Boys of Bangkok Amazing, updates!

By Adventures, Friends & Family, Gay, Gigs & Shows, Happiness & JoyNo Comments

Lady Boys of Bangkok. I would like to thank them for putting on a brilliant show. The show consisted of incredable costumes and make up along with good miming. I have watched their show for the last three years now, and it keeps getting bigger and better every year! I would highly recommend you go and see it!

I would also like to thank my good friend Steve and his sister Sarah for coming along with me. Sarah and myself have made a pact – for he to come up to Manchester and watch it again next year! Can’t wait.

This weekend, I am watching Kylie with my mum and Steve.

    Updates Wise:

I have been working on the adventures blog entry for my recent road trip. Here’s is a video of Kay and myself giving you a grand tour of the room we stayed in at the Caladonian Backpakers in Edinburgh:
