I’m so vain

By Health, LifeNo Comments

This all started when talking to a friend of a friend. “So go on then…how old do you think I am? I asked.
“Twenty eight?” My face visabley dropped. And I decided it was time to get vain.

So here’s what I don’t like about myself and what I intend to do about it:

1. Teeth – They have been discoloured since I was a teenager. Yet they are healthy, not a single filling in my life and good strong roots on them. The discolouration has always bothered me. So I have decided next month to have them lazer whitened at Style Smile. (If they are any good and effective, I’ll let you know!).

2. Hair – It’s getting a bit long and frizzy again, I have to admit. For a gay man sometimes I let my hair get a bit messy. So it’s a new hair style with regular visits to the hair dresser to main tain it. I just don’t know what style to have, ideas anyone?

3. Clothes – I’ve got some nice clothes, but as a gay man, can you ever have enough? Plus my style maybe needs to have a slight make over? I always go for the safe options. I need to take a few risks with my style. Maybe they’ll pay off?

4. Under Eyes – Sometimes I have massive scary looking bags under my eyes. I was considering extreme actions to get rid or reduce them but someone suggested buying some consealer. So I shall buy some consealer and let you know how I get on.

Blog vainly soon,

Antony

This Weekend & The Cabinet

By Friends & Family, Home, LifeNo Comments

As you are probably aware from my previous post (see David & The Housewarming), I have canceled my housewarming. This ment I needed to make plans for the weekend. So Simon have decided to go to Manchester Minerals.

A few months ago I went with David and I saw this beautiful quartz cluster that was £200. Rather sensibly David suggested that I didn’t really need it and that there were more important things I needed for the apartment (see The Move). He was right. But Simon and I are going back to see if it’s still there, if It is I was meant to be.

Talking about things I want, do you remember The Cabinet? Well it’s been reduced, but it’s still expensive. I can visualise it in my living room. I guess I’ll have to see how much I get paid and really think about if it’s worth the price. I could even hold on to see if they reduce it more but there’s always a risk that they’ll sell out. What do you think I should do?

Scape Goat

By Friends & Family, LifeNo Comments

Do you ever have moments in life were you think you understand what someone is saying, only to find out they are saying something completely different?

This happened to me a few weeks ago. My friend (T) had always called herself the “scape goat”. I had thought for years that when people were saying this they were saying the escaped goat. I thought that it meant that you were good at escaping out of situations. I imagined a sort-of ninja goat with a band around it’s forehead and a rope shooter with a hook on the end. (Ok. My imagination ran away with me. It does that sometimes!)

So after giving the escaped goat a great deal of thought, I concluded:
“T. I wouldn’t mind being the ecaped lion, or tiger…you know with claws…or even… the escaped dolphin because it’s cute, but I don’t get why be a goat?”

Needless to say, T was very confused and I had to explain my thinking to her. She laughed and then she explained to me what she had actually been saying and explained what it actually mean’t.

Shortly after, I was telling another friend this experience, she sent me this:

Not how I imagined it, but I laughed – knowing I am not the only one with an over active imagination.

I think she may have found it off the Internet (I would like to credit the author, but I don’t know where my friend found it – and she can’t remember).

Write soon,

Antony
