Poetry

By Creativity, Friends & Family, ThinkingNo Comments

Yesterday evening a friend and I went to an Open Mic night for poetry. My friend is a Poet in her very heart and soul. Whereas, I’m more of an appreciator of it as a creative form of prose.

We went to @The.S.Werd’s event in Preston. It was fantastic. Everyone who wants to share their poetry can do so and is given 5 minutes of mic time. I really enjoyed it and can’t wait till the next one.

There’s some really talented Poets out there, but combining poetry with performance really brings the words to life. You hear people’s stories and you feel what the Poet’s were feeling when they wrote their poems. Poems can be funny, deep, uplifting, weird and be about practically any topic.

So if you’ve never been to a poetry open mic night, I recommend you check one out.

Taylor Swift & Friendship Bracelets

By Books & Authors, Friends & Family, Music & Radio, ThinkingNo Comments

I recently heard this story about Taylor Swift and friendship bracelets. Before Taylor Swift was the global icon she is today, she used to host parties for fans. At these parties she’d perform her songs and gift fans a friendship bracelet.

Friendship Bracelets

I heard this story and thought: What a good idea!

So I’m offering everyone that’s ever bought a book from me, or one of my books on Amazon a free friendship bracelet.

To claim yours email me here.

Best Wishes,

The Druid Temple – Yorkshire

By Friends & Family, Happiness & Joy, PaganismNo Comments

Yesterday my good friend Simon and I went to visit The Druid’s Temple in Yorkshire. Not a real Druid’s temple, but a rather pleasant structure built around 200 years ago. The folly was built to give people jobs so that they could feed their families.

Essential Information

  • The is no charge to see The Druid’s Temple, but there is a charge for parking.
  • The Druid’s Template is about a 10 minute walk from parking, uphill, so might not be suitable for people with mobility problems.
  • There is a Cafe with toilets near to parking.
