Wigan Library Christmas Book Fair

By Amazon, Books & AuthorsNo Comments

I recently went to Wigan Library for their Christmas Book Fair to promote/sell my six books. Here are some things that I learned:

  • These sort of events are really important to introduce you as an author to potential readers. Always take some free self-promotion materials. I took business cards and postcards.
  • Presentation and personal appearance really matters, an eye catching book cover and props really do attract people’s attention.
  • Putting all of my health books together (Mental Health Wisdom, Ways The Human Body Can Go Wrong and The Alcohol Therapy Workbook) really helped increase sales.
  • A method for taking contactless card payments is essential, as most people don’t carry cash these days.
  • Free paper bags add value to books, especially if they have a sticker of a QR code on them.
  • Sit back and relax. Allow people to look at your books at their leisure. Engage them in conversation only if they want to talk. Never fold your arms.
  • Social media presence, website and books available on Amazon are all essential.

Book Review: The Pagan Bard by Luna Hare

By Amazon, Books & Authors, Creativity, Nature, Paganism, ReviewsNo Comments

The Pagan Bard by Luna Hare is a book containing 55 poems about the seasons and other natural/spiritual poetry. They are spread over 76 pages and are beautifully presented along with images and swirls.

The poems have been written over 30 years and are wonderfully wholesome. I thoroughly enjoyed reading each and everyone of them. In each poem, Luns takes you on a deeply personal and spiritual journey.

This book is not only enlightening but also entertaining.

If you’re looking for a nature or pagan themed poetry book, this is the one for you.

Full disclosure: I helped to edit this book.
