The Annual Christmas Card Letter

By Friends & FamilyNo Comments

Every year I write a letter to go inside of the Christmas cards of those friends I don’t have the opportunity to see often. This year, I’ve tweaked it slightly for my readers, so here it is:

Get in touch, contact me

Wednesday 24th November 2010

Dear Reader,
I hope this Christmas card finds you well. In my life this year, the themes seem to have been adventure and learning. My adventure started in February, a cold snap drove me in search of a beach holiday. I decided to head off to sunny Benidorm. I had a great week and while I was there I met a guy named Boyfriend-W. We got together, and traveled backwards and forwards to visit each other. Boyfriend-W asked me to move to Benidorm and live with him. I was lucky enough to get six months unpaid leave at work to try living out there.

The good days were some of the best of my life. However equally the bad days were some of the worst of my life. I learnt so much from my time in Benidorm with Boyfriend-W, but unfortunately things didn’t work out. I returned home and returned to work early. When most people have an emotional crises they turn to alcohol or drugs, but me I turned to shopping! I bought a new car and an entire new wardrobe. I got an enormous amount of support from my family and friends, for which I am eternally grateful.

At Manchester Pride in the end of August, I managed to hold up the whole parade. I rather dramatically started having a diabetic hypo fit just as the parade started. Like everything, I try and see the positive which in this case was the rather dishy paramedics. (I didn’t manage to get their numbers in case you’re wondering.) I also have a butch scare.

In September I moved back in to my apartment, which I had rented out after about a month of bed hopping (Not like that! How rude!). I got myself a housemate as well. He lives in the master bedroom and is wonderful, I’ve adopted him and he already feels like part of the family.

This September I’ve continued on my elearning to upgrade my Nursing Diploma to Degree. I have completed a module entitled ‘Promoting and Influencing Health’ and I managed to get a 1st grade, so that’s my target now to get all my other modules at a 1st grade. I’m currently undertaking a ‘Leadership’ module and my ‘Dissertation’ module. I will have one more to complete January – March, and then I’ll have my degree!

Currently I just got an Iphone4 (my baby) and am dating a guy. He makes me very happy and I hope to be writing about our time together in next years letter.

Well that’s pretty much all the significant events of my year. I hope you get time to write back. My love,

Antony

Partying – despite the weather

By Friends & Family, Happiness & Joy2 Comments

Despite the cold, icy, snowy weather bringing the country to a stand still (well according to the papers, like we believe what we read!), I’ve been out partying.

I was kindly invited by Sye’s mum to her birthday. A good time was had by all. I had fun dancing, badly, with the subtly of an elephant. Yes, I am ashamed to say that I stepped on Sye’s toes once or twice.

So now the photos, taken on my iPhone4 (Click on photos for full size image):

Write soon,

A general update

By Education, Friends & Family, Life, Love & Relationships2 Comments

I’ve noticed that my blogging recently hasn’t really been about me. It’s been about books, my beautiful iphone and generally anything that I like. So grab a brew and we’ll have a catch up.

First, Uni. I’m doing two elearning modules, one on Leadership and the other my Dissertation module. It’s going well, although I need to do some more research for the assignments. I am enjoying the learning, but will be thankful in March when I’ve completed my final module.

Family life has been most interesting with lots of ups and downs. Mum met a long lost brother on the train recently, it turned out I have two lof them. I’ve met one of the brothers and his fiancée, which I wont deny was a bit weird. But we got on really well, they are wonderful people and guess what? I’m an uncle to four! I’ve always secretly wanted to be an uncle so I’m stoked.

In my love life, I was dating a guy for a while, but it didn’t work out. Too needy and not good communication. Now I’m dating another guy and so far, it’s going well. He makes me happy. Cheesy grin smile :D.

Well that’s about all that’s new in my life, take care,

Antony x

A Positive Spell

By LifeOne Comment

It’s tough times and everybody seems to be feeling it, so I thought I would share with you a spell to bring some positivity in to your life and those around you.

All you need is a candle, ideally white, but I actually used a rainbow coloured candle because just looking at it made me feel more positive.

Sit somewhere comfortable, where you can spend some quiet time visualising without interruption. Take the candle in-between your hands and close your eyes.

Clear your mind of all thoughts, forget about the pressures and stresses of the day. Visualise a treasure chest in your mind and see all of your thoughts as coloured light. See the chest open and absorb all of the coloured light, until all that is left is your clear mind.

Now, think of what would make your life and those around you more positive, more fulfilled and happy. It maybe job security or more money, more time with loved ones, improved health, time to be creative, whatever it is spend at least 10 minutes visualising this in as much detail as you can.

See it actually happening in your mind and imagine how people you know respond when you tell them the news. Then visualise all these thoughts as yellow energy and visualise the energy move from your brain down to your heart.

Now visualise how you will feel when what you have visualised happens. Feel green positive, warm, bright energy of your emotions join your yellow thought energy.

Now see this mass of positive energy flow down your arms, in to your hands and then penetrate and fill the candle. The candle should almost seem to glow with a warm, positive energy.

Each night light the candle for roughly an hour, saying as you light the candle: “Release the energy within, like attract like. Positive energy attract positive things in to my life.”

(Please never leave a burning candle unattended!)

Here’s my candle, and so far it’s working:

More positive things are happening in my life. But more importantly, it seems to have attracted a few new people on my life that give me much joy, happiness and positivity.

Take care,

Antony
