What is happening to Food in the UK? As both Cadbury & Kellogg’s CHANGE KEY INGREDIENTS

What is happening to Food in the UK?

Cadbury and Kellogg’s, two of the most trusted food brands in the UK, have changed key recipe ingredients in some of their products, according to news reports. The BBC reports that Cadbury have been the amount of cocoa in products with palm oil and other cheaper ingredients. All to maximise profits.

I’m sure I read a news story about Cadbury’s having to re-label their Freddo bar (the one aimed at children) by order of court from ‘chocolate’ to ‘chocolate flavour,’ as the changed recipe didn’t contain enough cocoa to be legally considered chocolate. I recently ate a Dairy Milk Hero and spat it out, it tasted that disgusting.

Then we have Kellogg’s, who the BBC reports reports recently removed rice from their Rice Krispies, because it had become too expensive.

Both American-Owned

What’s interesting is that both companies are currently American-Owned. American food standards are globally known to be terrible. Just think about chlorinated or bleached chicken. It only happens in the USA.

What are the UK Government doing?

In the UK, The Food Standards Agency is responsible for regulating food standards. I could not see anything on their home page when I looked (on 06/11/26) about Cadbury or Kellogg’s recipe changes. So it seems like the UK Government are doing nothing.

What you can do about it

  • Sign this petition that I have set up asking The UK Government to have The Food Standards Agency investigate Cadbury and Kellogg’s recipe changes to make sure they are both legal and don’t impact people’s health.
  • Where possible by British brands or products from the UK.

Write soon,

Antony
