A BIG Thank You

By The Web2 Comments

Just wanted to say a BIG thank you to my friend Sye who with his wonderful CSS coding skill has made my blog look less a collection-of-floating-boxes by putting it all together. He is fantastic and making it look better has inspired me to write some new blog posts. So keep an eye out over the next few weeks – you don’t know what you might miss!

Oh and I’ve updated the Photos page and added the Book List 2011 page.

A New Design

By The Web4 Comments

I wanted a new design that was less formal than the last. I suffered from wordpress-theme-depression after being unable to find a theme that I like. In the end I decided to take the Plainscape design and tweak it.

It’s not exactly as I want it, so let’s call it a work in progress, kind of like me. As always, you can let me know what you think by leaving a comment. If you want to compare it to previous designs see Geeky Post: Website Development.

The Guardian’s Charlie Brooker

By The WebNo Comments

I recently discovered The Guardian’s Charlie Brooker. I enjoy reading his weekly online articles often about TV, politics or what ever he feels he wants to write about. I like that his own voice comes through in his writing, which he seems to achieve by using wit and humor.

I read one of his articles entitled Forget those creative writing workshops. If you want to write, get threatened, where he said if you want to get that idea for a novel actually on paper you need to get yourself a deadline. Good advice Charlie! I need to get myself a deadline if I want to write three short stories before the end of this year (see Goals for 2010).

I’ve added Charlie to my ‘Blogs of Interest’ as although, strictly speaking, not a blog, it is something I take pleasure from when reading. With the ‘Blogs of Interest’ in mind, I’ve removed Wyatt’s Blog as he’s stopped blogging and turned in to an online shopping store.
