There’s much cause for excitement with me at the moment. I’m looking forward to some recent and new album releases and some TV shows.
Jake Shears has just released his new album, Last Man Dancing. I’ve got the album and am looking forward to a long drive and enjoying listening to the sound of his voice.
I’ve just learned that Stephen Lynch the musical comedian has released a new album My New Heart. I can’t wait to listen and laugh to it.
Kylie Minogue has a new album coming out, titled Tension. I’m hoping it’s better than her last couple of albums. Hoping it sounds like Kylie in the 90s.
McFly are releasing their long awaiting album titled Power to Play. I am soo excited for this release!
There’s some brilliant TV Shows out/coming out, including:
The Umbrella Academy Season 3The Mandalorian Season 3Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 3
When we lost Tina Turner recently, we lost a musical legend. I was lucky enough to see her live in Manchester, back in 2009. See photos and blog post from the time.
I’ll be honest, I’ve loved this song for years. It is about escaping a harsh reality and the hope for better days in the future. Tracy has a beautiful voice.
I love Lucy Spraggan’s honesty in this song. She strives for something we all do: balance in our lives. But this song is about more than this. It is about her realising, that perhaps having someone along on her journey might be a good thing.
This song is definitely one I listen to repeat. It’s about realising how badly you’ve been treated by someone that’s supposed to care for you. Realising it, getting angry and saying F##K YOU, I AM NEVER GOING BACK TO THAT S##T.
Oleta Adams expresses the desire and longing we can have for that special person. Her voice is phenomenal and she is someone I would love to see live, just for this one song.
In April, a friend and I went to see Darren Hayes at Manchester Bridgewater Hall. We had a great time. I took loads of photos but due to the layout of the theatre and movement of the artist most came out blurry. Here are two photos that did turn out okay:
And as a special treat here are two short video clips:
We need things to look forward to. I am a big believer in this. For mum and I one of our loves is a good musical. We’ve recently seen Bedknobs & Broomsticks and 9 to 5. Both were seen at Manchester’s Palace Theatre and both were brilliant.
Bedknobs & Broomsticks was magical, marvellous and spectacular. Everything about it was wonderful, the cast and singing, the chorography, the costume and the props which included puppets.
9 to 5 was equally thrilling. A great cast, fantastic chorography and hilariously funny as well. It even had cameo video appearances from Dolly Parton.
And we’ve got this to look forward to in January 2023:
