The Next Best Thing

By Reviews, TV, Online Streaming & FilmsNo Comments

I recently watched The Next Best Thing. This is the story of a gay man (Rupert Everett) and his best friend (Madonna) who sleep together and then she becomes pregnant. They decide to raise the child who they name Sam together. After 6 years of raising Sam together the best friend, mother to the gay man’s child meets Mr. Right. However Mr. Right wants to move to New York for his Carrer and wants best friend and Sam to move with him.

It is an emotional story that made me laugh and cry. I would recommend you see it, if you haven’t already.

X Factor 2009

By Music & Radio, TV, Online Streaming & FilmsNo Comments

Wow, I actually really enjoyed the X Factor last night. I usually cringe at the bad singers (and even get embarrased for them!). But this year it seemed to have a feel-all-warm-and-happy feel about it. It made me laugh at parts and for the first time I found the X Factor funny.

It was good to see more gay people in this hetrosexual world on the programme too. It shows the culture is changing. Believe it or not at one time there just weren’t gay people on the tele. Some were good and some were bad, not unlike our straight counter parts.

I also realised that Manchester has talent! Well mostly but we got quite a few yeses. I’d like the winner to be from Manchester.

Finally there was a feel-good end with Daniel, a teacher 27 years old. He seemed to be a born performer and also had nice deep brown eyes. Simon Cowell called him a “great performer,” My god Simon, have you had a personality transplant?

I want to use this opportunity to say I also quite like the new JSL song:

Harry Potter and Weridness

By Love & Relationships, TV, Online Streaming & FilmsNo Comments

This weekend I have had a date with the ex friend with benefits (see An update of Men & Men). We went watching the new Harry Potter film. The film was good but left a lot of questions unanswered. It also seemed to jump from scene to scene with no real flow to it.

As an end to the date came to an end a kiss was expected. It was nice but very werid, like a ball of weridness. It’s hard to know were the boundaries are and if indeed I want to date this person?

I guess time will tell.

Blog soon,

Antony
