A Long FANTASTIC Bank Holiday Weekend

By Friends & Family, Happiness & Joy, Pets4 Comments

What a fantastic weekend it’s been!

Friday I saw my friend Simon, had a brew and a long overdue catch up.

Saturday some new tables arrived. I’d bought some gorgeous small tempered black glass ones to replace the chunky wooden ones I had. This made room for the kitten climbing centres I bought. Shaun (my long lost brother, blog post coming soon to explain, promise) came round and helped me build them. Bless him, he had only come round for a brew. We had a good day, just talking and building the tables. It was ace to spend some brotherly bonding time together.

Sunday I went seeing the kittens. Oh how big they’ve gotten in three weeks! And they’ve now got names! Of course, I’ve got photos for you:

(Dylan saying hello)
(Russell chilling)
(The boys playing together)
(Me bonding with Dylan, letting him smell me)
(A kittens work is never done! Dylan found some news paper to shred!)

Today (Monday) I went out for a drive with my good friend JB. We went to a nice country pub for lunch in his flashy Honda S2000 Yellow Convertible. Then we headed to one of my favourite places for ice cream:

Hope you had an equally fantastic bank holiday, roll on the next one!

Take care,

Antony

Getting Motivated Again…

By Happiness & Joy, Life, ThinkingNo Comments

Sometimes in life things hit you out of the blue and knock your motivation (see My Darling Baby Brother & Grief). Recently all I’ve done is work, eat, sleep, more sleep. But then, inevitably things come along that get you motivated again.

I don’t what it was for me: the kittens (see New editions to the family), the 5,000 word assignment that I finished last weekend (which gave me a sense of achievement, pride and relief), the increased exercise, better diet or time spent with family and friends. Perhaps it was a combination of them all.

All I know is that I’m feeling motivated again and starting to be more productive with my time, doing things I enjoy. It feels great.

Blog soon,

Antony

New editions to the family

By Amazon, Friends & Family, PetsNo Comments

(Click to see full size photo).

These two gorgeous male bengal kittens are the latest edition to my family. They are a few weeks old and will be coming to live with me in mid to the end of June.

The breeder was fantastic and I’ve bought two books from Amazon. The first Bengal Cats: A Complete Pet Owner’s Manual by Dan Rice a book filled with information specific to the breed and lots of glossy photos and the second The Complete Cat by Vicky Halls which is very comprehensive about owning any type of cat.

In other news it’s been a hectic month, hence the lack of posts and I’ve got a Uni deadline coming up. After the Uni deadline I hope to get back to more regular posts.

Promise to share more photos soon,

Antony

Saturday 26th March 2011 – Anti Cuts March London

By Political2 Comments

I was there, and this post will explain why.

People coming together to show their opposition to the governments cuts.
I agree that cuts need to be made but I don’t agree with the depth and short time in which the cuts are being made.

I don’t believe other options have been fully considered by the government. I don’t think that the private sector has the capacity to pick up the redundancies from the public sector. I don’t believe that the private sector in the majority needs the knowledge, skills and experience of Nurses, Youth Workers, Community Workers, etc. whereas the public does, if we don’t image the issues we will have in our society in future.

I don’t think our NHS should be for sale to the highest bidder.

Finally I don’t think the government is listening to the people it is suppose to serve and I feel lied to by David Cameron, Nick Clegg and their parties. I believe things need to change and I’m playing my part.

I was in the heart of the protests, which for the most part were peaceful. I heard the roar of the crowd, the growing anger and frustration. There were reportedly 500,000 people there, but looking around I think the media may have under reported.

I hope that the next step is a National Strike by all Unions, if they wont listen to protest let’s him them with what they care about money. One day’s loss of production.

Blog soon,

Antony
