An Amazon Reminder

By AmazonNo Comments

Hi All,

Just wanted to remind you all that if your planning to purchase off Amazon on pay day you can use this Amazon link. Anything you buy will give me some commision and make no difference to your purchase price.

I managed to make in July 08 – July 09 about £3. Hardly a fortune, lol. My aim is to raise £35 to fund the site for a year.

You can also use the widgets on some blog posts that look like this:

Or use the Amazon Search Box on the right hand side of this blog.

Hugs,

Pride

By GayNo Comments

Pride has been a good weekend. I got to march in the parade under Peter Tatchell’s community entry.

I do think a lot of the gay community have forgot what it used to be like to be gay and what pride is suppose to be about. 10 Years ago there were no gay people in the media and we had significantly less rights. Less rights included Section 28 being law, sexual consent age 18 and no rights to marry (no society recognition of our relationships therefore meaning no legal recognition of our relationships). We also had label of HIV being a gay disease and lost many of our friends to this hidden disease.

And as if this wasn’t enough there was a lack of tolerence and respect for diversity. It was a hetrosexual world with many gay, lesbian and bisexual people experiencing homophobia and sometimes even hate crimes. We often felt isolated and those who were brave enough to come out of their closet were often made homeless. There was one gay pub now on Manchester’s highly populated gay village (the New Union), it required a secret knock to gain entry and was regularly raided by the police.

We have come along way, but are still fighting for true equality and to change some people’s values. Some people still believe it’s a “choice” and that according to their religion or moral values it’s “wrong” or “unnatural” (god I hate that phrase – homosexuality has been seen in almost every animal species, so how can it be unnatural?). There are even people who turn their views in to physical violence towards homosexuals.

Yes pride is a celebration of how far we’ve come (and gays know how to throw a party!), but we must not forget that we still have to keep the aim of true equality.

Take Care,

Petrol Prices

By Political2 Comments

Hi All,

Petrol & disel prices are set to rise by another 2p a litre according to PetrolPrices.com. I heard on one report that it was to raise funds for public services. We already pay more than most other countries and the majority of the price paid at the pump is due to tax. Do we simply not pay enough tax to cover these public services? Council tax, road tax, VAT. I am sure we could redistribute funds we have rather than add to the tax payers burden.

Buy your petrol before Tuesday 1st September 09, as that’s when the 2p tax is being added. Fill up before they raise the cost of petrol and disel even more.

Earlier this week I heard reports on Radio 1 that some people are really struggling with the cost of living and the economic resession at the moment. I have noticed the sharp rise in prices on essentials and am really starting to see the considerably less miles I get for the same amount of petrol as I did a year ago.

It seems that Gordon Brown and his MP’s can manage financially on the £65, 000 (plus expenses) they get. Well Gordon and your friends – that is NOT the average wage. Most people are not fortunate to be on this amount of money. So don’t be supprised if the media are reporting that people are struggling financially, and don’t stratch your head and ask why. Or be prepared (which is likely to happen anyway) to give No. 10 to David Cameron.

This effects us all, not just the car drivers as the papers have reported. If you get a bus to work – there ticket prices will have to reflect this increase in petrol and disel. You may think the only people it doesn’t effect is thosse who can walk or cycle to work. Wrong! Your goods that you buy in the supermarket all have to be transported there on trucks, trucks that use petrol or disel. So it is likely that ALL of our cost of living is set to rise.

Blog politically soon,

Antony

Money Magick

By Money / FinancesNo Comments

I previously posted about my finances (See Credit Crunch). I had wrote a letter to the bank explaining my income, my expenses and one off expenses this month (MOT, Road Tax, etc.). I also advised the bank when the best time (for me) would be to reduce my overdraft facility. I then sent out some energy intentioned to help sort out my finances into the astral plane.
(Note: Citrine is a good crystal for money magick.)

I recieved a letter a few days ago from the bank stating they will not reduce my overdraft this month. They have stated that they will review my account monthly. So I still need to watch what I spend and save up to pay the overdraft back a.s.a.p.

It reminded me of my strong will and personal power that I have to influence mine and others lives. But I always need to remember: With great power comes great responsibility.

In love and light,

Antony x
